MELISSA ANN EATON, affectionately known as "Moe," passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026, at the age of 83.

Born on November 3, 1942, Melissa grew up in Arlington, Virginia, and graduated from Wakefield High School. She went on to attend Penn State University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Moe was a woman of many passions and a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit. Alongside her devoted husband of 47 years, Robert "Bob" Eaton, she spent 20 years managing local businesses across Monterey County, California, and the Medford, Oregon area. Together, they were self-trained chimney sweeps and dedicated dealers of satellite dishes, wood stoves, and pellet stoves.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Moe poured her heart into her community and country. She was a strong advocate for veterans and found great joy in performing with The DD-214s, an all-veterans and spouses music outreach band. Her deep compassion was also evident in her 12 years of service as a Providence Hospice volunteer in Medford from 2000 to 2011. At home, she was happiest when surrounded by her beloved horses, tending to her beautiful flowers, and working in her garden.

Melissa is survived by her loving husband, Robert Eaton; her son, Howard Eaton, and daughter-in-law, Rebecca Eaton; her brother, Peter Thompson; and her stepchildren, Angela Burgess and Melissa Greer Himes. She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Paul Thompson, and her mother, Frances Cherry Thompson.

Her warmth, dedication to service, and deep love for her family and country will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
