On July 19, 2026, the world lost a good man when Richard Hajek Sr. passed away at his home in Eagle Point, Oregon. He was 75, but his legacy stretches far beyond the years he lived. He was a husband, a father, a grandfather, a brother, and a steady presence whose love lived in the quiet, everyday ways he cared for others.

For 52 years, he and his wife, Vickie, built a life rooted in love and partnership a true fairytale love story. He adored his children and grandchildren, and nothing made him happier than being surrounded by family.

He spent 48 years working for Medford Molding, a testament to his dedication and character. He was the kind of person who showed up, stayed committed, and took pride in providing for his family.

When his kids were young, he loved taking his family on camping trips, hunting, fishing, and weekend getaways to the Oregon Coast. As his children grew older, annual Las Vegas trips became some of his favorite memories and brought out his fun side as he enjoyed the bright lights, laughter, and treasured time spent with his wife and adult children. As he aged and slowed down, he found comfort in simple pleasures watching action movies, playing solitaire, and seeing if he could catch a lucky streak at the slots.

Those who knew him will remember his steadiness, his dry sense of humor, and the way he made people feel safe and loved. His presence was a gift, and his absence leaves a space that cannot be filled.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 52 years, Vickie Hajek; his daughter, Kristi Hajek Burd; his son, Richard Jay Hajek Jr.; his loving sister, Karen Albert; his brothers, Robin Hajek and Gerald Hajek; three grandsons, Tristan Heusser, Colin Heusser, and Richard Jay Hajek III; and two granddaughters, Blakelyn Lee Hajek and Wylyn Jay Hajek.

In keeping with his wishes, no formal service will be held. His family will honor him privately, carrying his memory forward in the stories, traditions, and love he leaves behind.
